Fatuma’s Voice – Building an Africa that speaks for herself…

Fatuma’s Voice is a community organization that encourages expression through creative tools like art, music, poetry, and open discussions. We create safe spaces for conversations about how Africans can navigate personal challenges, solve social issues and explore opportunities across the continent.

Vision:

We picture an inclusive and politically conscious Africa, with a voice that dismantles false narratives and involves every community member in the process of social change.

Mission:

Building an Africa that speaks for herself.

Background and History:

The first Fatuma’s Voice forum happened on Friday, 12 July 2013.

It begun as an open forum and has since grown into a themed and structured event that happens each week ever since.

This has had a lasting impression to the individuals and organizations that have had the privilege of attending. They have also had an opportunity to interact and share with creative’s from other cities and countries.

Each session usually has a theme and a featured guest who is proficient in the day’s topic. We also encourage expression through art, poetry, and music. As a result, we have created an avenue for creatives to use their talents for a positive course.
